Makeup Monday- My 10 Favorite Eye Products

Last week I posted my 10 favorite face products.  This post is all about the eyes.  My eyes are brown so I like to use products that make them pop.  Colors that are warm instead of cool work better for me.

My favorite eye palette is the original Naked palette by Urban Decay.  I have all three Naked palettes but this one has colors that are warm.

Urban Decay Naked Palette, $54, sephora.com

I have a few NARS duos and if I use them all together I can make the most amazing purpley- brown smokey eye.  But I have one that is my absolute favorite.

NARS Duo Eye Shadow, Kalahari, $35, sephora.com

I have a large collection of MAC single eye shadows.  On an average day I will only reach for one or two.  Both of these shadows look good on their own but I like to use the lighter shade on the lid and the darker blended into the crease.

MAC Eye Shadow, Naked Lunch, $16, maccosmetics.com

MAC Eye Shadow, Woodwinked, $16, maccosmetics.com

I like to use a cream shadow as my eye primer.

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot, Nubile, discontinued

I use a highlighting pencil in my inner corner and under my eyebrow.  I've used this pencil a lot and it's almost gone.

Benefit Eye Bright, $20, sephora.com

I like to use a tinted brow gel to fill in my brows.  I wouldn't define my brows as thick or thin and they don't need major filling in, just a little definition.  This product has a tiny spooly brush with is perfect for applying product.

Benefit Gimme Brow, Medium/ Deep, $22, sephora.com

I have a new favorite mascara.  It does exactly what the package says.

Bare Minerals Flawless Definition, Black, $18, sephora.com

This product combines my two favorite black and brown eye liners.

Urban Decay 24/7 Double Ended Glide On Eye Pencil, Zero/  Whiskey, $16, sephora.com

If I'm keeping my makeup really light on any particular day sometimes I'll use a dark blue eye liner to make my brown eyes stand out.

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner, Navy, discontinued

There you have it.  The eye products I can't live without.  Comment below and tell me what your favorite eye products are.  I hope you all have a great week.

Recipe Wednesday- How I Plan My Weekly Menu

I plan my dinner menu and go shopping once a week.  The pic above is the paper menu that I print out and stick on the side of my fridge.

Chris and I tend to eat a lot of meals with chicken as the main component.  I have two boards on my Pinterest page for dinners, one called "Non Chicken Main Dishes" and "Chicken Main Dishes."

The first thing I do when I start to plan my menu is pull up my Pinterest boards and my Menu Padfolio.

Chris got this from the company that he works for and I immediately stole it.  I mean, it's technically a tool that I use in the mission to feed him so he's not allowed to be too upset right?

I always check my freezer to see what kind of protein I already have on hand.

This week I had 1 package of chicken breasts, 3 packages of turkey, and 2 of ground beef.  I get the majority of my meat to Costco.  They have a 6 pack of chicken breasts that come with 2 breasts in a pack.  That works out perfectly for Chris and I.  I also love their organic ground beef.  They turkey isn't anything special.  I just tend to grab it while I'm there getting everything else.  I also have a membership to Sam's Club and I've grabbed my ground turkey there before too.

If I'm planning my menu for the week (7 days) I plan on cooking for 6 of these nights.  Chris really helps out by cooking at least one night a week.  Granted, he usually picks the easiest meal to cook but I can't hold that against him.  Because I am planning to cook 6 meals I choose 12 meals from my Pinterest boards.  I make sure that they are a mixture of meals that are new, and meals that we haven't tried before.

Here are the 12 meals I picked out for this week.

Then I pass the list over to Chris and let him pick the 6 meals that sound the best to him.  I almost always put beef stroganoff on the list.  I've only made it once before and it was the first meal I ever cooked for Chris.  It was about a month into our relationship and way before I got really good at cooking.  To this day I still blame it on him.  He was a total bachelor and the only pan he owned was a cast iron skillet.  Let's just say it ended badly and I have been trying to redeem myself and my stroganoff skills since then.  He never picks it though.  This week was no different.

After I have the meals picked out I go through and make my shopping list.  I have a really good idea of what I have in my fridge/ pantry at any given time but there are some things I have to check on and I make a special section for those items.

Then I make my shopping list based off of the recipes.

This is what everything looks like so far.

Then I add everything else I need.  And look over my check for list.

The finished list looks like this.

Doing this every week really keeps food from going bad.  I will admit that there are days that I just don't feel like cooking dinner.  The meal that was set to be made that night will normally get cycled into next week.

I hope this post helped everyone.  Comment down below and let me know how you guys plan out your meals for the week.

Makeup Monday- My 10 Favorite Face Products

Uh, yeah...  I might have a slight problem with buying makeup.  This post is about my top 10 face products.  These are the products that I will continue to repurchase over and over again with the exception of one because it was  from a limited edition collection.  So, let's get into what keeps my face looking put together.

First things first, I always start with a primer.  I apply this after making sure my moisturizer had dried completely.  Then I make sure my primer dries before I move onto the next step of my routine.

Makeup Forever High Definition Primer, 0/ Neutral, $34, sephora.com

On days that I don't need much coverage or I don't feel like wearing a liquid foundation I reach for my tinted moisturizer.

Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20, Light- Medium, $36, sephora, com

When I do wear a liquid foundation I tend to reach for one that is matifying.

Makeup Forever Mat Velvet +, No, 20, $36, sephora.com

I get dark circles and redness around my nose, not to mention the occasional breakout.  This is my favorite concealer because it has technology in it that prevents creasing.  It doubles as an eye primer for me.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, NW20, $20, maccosmetics.com

If I only have time to apply one face product it will ALWAYS be powder.

MAC Studio Fix Powder, NW25, $27, maccosmetics.com

I have two bronzers that I reach for on a regular basis, one with shimmer and one matte.

Shimmery, Shimmery Goodness

(Oh yeah, I've used the crap out of this bronzer.  It's gorgeous.)

NARS Bronzing Powder, Laguna, $38, sephora.com

Matte Perfection...  And it smells like chocolate...  Delicious...

(Apparently they changed the packaging.  It had a gold lid now.)

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer, Medium/ Deep, $30, sephora.com

The perfect light pink blush.  Seriously swoon worthy.  Why was it limited edition?  Why MAC?  Tell me, PLEASE!

MAC Powder Blush- Wonder Woman Collection, Mighty Aphrodite, No longer available.

The perfect peachy pink for my skin.

NARS Powder Blush, Torrid, $30, sephora.com

The best powder highlighter everrr.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish, Soft and Gentle, $32, maccosmetics.com

So, that's all of them.  My 10 favorite face products.  It was hard to narrow it down, to just 10 products.  I could have picked out 10 blushes.  Perhaps, that will be my next post.

Comment below and let me know what your favorite face products are.

Have a great week.
