About Me

My life motto, and... well... me

I'm Erin

I love to cook and bake.  I have been known to spend hours on Pinterest looking for new recipes to try.  I used to think the rule that anyone who could read could cook/ bake but after hearing some horror stories from friends and family I stand corrected.  I will say that not everything I've ever made has turned out delicious but I consider myself to be a pretty good cook the majority of the time.  Sometimes I think that the majority of my friends love me through their stomachs first and hearts second.  It's just my husband and myself in the household (more on that amazing man later) so my friends and co-workers tend to reap the benefits of my leftovers.

I made these red raspberry cupcakes with homemade butter cream frosting and mini cadbury eggs a few years back for Easter.  I brought the extra ones into work the next day and they were gone in seconds.

I am extremely lucky to have a wonderful man in my life to call my husband.  His name is Chris.    Remember how I mentioned that I hate cleaning up the kitchen after cooking?  He cleans up the messes I make in the kitchen as long as I keep his belly happy.  He's my best friend and the best thing that has ever happened to me.  He's pretty darn cute too if I do say so myself.

We are the loving parents to two awesome doggies.  They are both about 7 years old now and the bestest of friends.

We got Jack first.  He's a German Shepard mix.  He's got quite a few nicknames as well.  Bud, Buddy, Jackers, Cracker Jack, and well...  butthead when he won't stay out of my kitchen while I'm cooking.  Other people who have tried cooking a large, complex meal with a 70 lb. dog constantly underfoot will understand.  But I love him and his cuddles.  He loves to go hiking with me and his Daddy.

And that brings us to my Molly.  As far as we can tell she is a Karelian Bear Dog.  We got her about 6 months after Jack when we realized that he would probably like someone to play/ hang out with while Chris and I are at work.  For the record when we got her I thought it would be adorable to name her Jill so we had a Jack and Jill but my opinion was vetoed pretty quickly with a sigh and an eye roll.
We discovered very quickly after adopting her that she was extremely skittish and frightened of Chris.  We came to the deduction that she had been abused, most likely by a man.  She warmed up to Chris after a little while and now they have the best relationship.  She still has massive amounts of anxiety around new people and getting her groomed is almost impossible.  We've had her close to 7 years and her past still affects her.

PEOPLE WHO HARM ANIMALS DISGUST ME!

She isn't much of a hiker but she loves to play ball and wrestle.  She also has a horrible habit of getting into the trash/ recycling cans.  But I guess she can't help it if my food is that good right?  :)     I call her Molly Doll most of the time.

Isn't she cute?

Now, I'll close this up with 10 facts about me:

1.  I am a licensed massage therapist in the state of Nevada.  I love what I do and I have been doing it for over 8 years now. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing I have helped someone.

2.  I grew up in a small farm town in Southern California.  When I say small, I mean so small they don't even have a Wal-Mart.  Yeah...  tiny.

3.  I have an obsession with anything beauty related.  Hair, skincare, make-up, nails...  I love it.  I've learned everything I know from watching beauty gurus on YouTube.  I have a large makeup collection, more than I will ever need but I love using new products.  Is it sad when the people at Sephora know you by name?  Many of my friends value my opinion and take me with them when they want to try out something new.

4.  I like to read...  A LOT.  If a book is under 200 pages I can normally read it in a day.  I read a lot of romance books.  I LOVE love stories.

5.  I met my husband on Myspace.  Yes, Myspace.  I put out a personal ad to met some new people in Vegas while trying to work 3 different jobs.  Chris answered and the rest is history.

6.  We got married almost 2 years after we met.  I started planning a wedding and decided I couldn't wait to call him my husband.  So we got married at a drive thru window on a whim.

7.  I have lived in Las Vegas for 9 years and I have moved 8 times.  Moving sucks right?  I just moved into my dream home so hopefully I won't be doing it again for a while.

8.  I have a few weird quirks.  I have an irrational fear of birds.  I HATE the word moist.  I literally just cringed typing it.  I'm a little OCD.  Numbers on the thermostat and the volume in the car have to be an even number.  I can't watch horror movies.  I'm super clumsy too.  And I have an issue with germs.  I buy Clorox wipes in bulk at Costco.

9.  My favorite non- dessert food is soup.  I love soup.  It's the best.  I could even eat it on the hottest day in Vegas.

10.  I live in Vegas and I'm in my mid- 20's but by no means am I a party girl.  I avoid The Strip like the plague.  I don't go to clubs.  I'm not paying $20 for a drink.  I'm not getting groped while trying to dance.  I rather shake my booty in my own living room to some Taylor Swift (yeah, I said it) with a glass of wine.

With all that being said, now you know all about me.  You have any questions just ask.
I'm spending every day Living Life in LV.
