Thoughtful Thursday- 10-30-14

This is some great advice to live by.  We all have the capacity to do amazing things and often times the thing that stands in the way is believing in ourselves.  Recently I have found myself chanting "I CAN do this" out loud.  That brings us to today's question...

October 30th- What is standing in your way?

The thing that stands in the way more frequently than anything else is MYSELF.  I haven't worked out in over a week and I have no one to blame but myself for that.  I am the excuse master when it comes to working out (and my weight reflects it.)  I really want to get back to where I was when I was at my lowest weight and I just have to get up and work at it.  I know that it's going to be hard and that is what keeps me from doing it.  But anything worth having (like a great body) isn't going to come easy.

And Currently I'm...

Reading-  I'm in between books at the moment.  The next book I plan to read is "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed.  It's the story of a woman who decided to hike 1,100 miles on the Pacific Northwest Trail after a lot of devastating things happened in her life.  It's been made into a movie, set to be released this December.

Playing- Just some music in the background while I blog.

Watching-  Nothing currently, but I am still marathoning Grey's Anatomy from the beginning on Netflix.  I'm on season 7 now.

Listening To- Maroon 5's new album.  I've told Chris that I'd like to seem them live when they come in December and now I'm trying to subliminally send reminders for him to buy me tickets for either my birthday or Christmas.

Working on- My blog at this moment.  After this I'm going to make lunch and then work on another sewing project.

Eating- (Drinking) Coffee.  French Vanilla K-Cup with Coldstone Sweet Cream Creamer.  I love the Coldstone creamer because it's really simple.  It tastes like half and half that's been lightly sweetened.

Wanting- The new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette.  I know these things are going to fly off the shelves.  The price is a little steep ($58,) but its 3 full sized blushes so I can justify it that way.  But then again I can justify almost anything when it comes to make-up.  Excuse master and make-up addict remember?

Needing- To get some stuff accomplished around the house today and tomorrow.  It's picked up for the most part but it's just DUSTY.  We've been opening the windows more and more because the weather has been beautiful but in a windy, dirt filled, valley like Las Vegas things tend to get really dusty really fast.

Loving- My Erin Condren Life Planner.  I've been using it for over a week now and I love being able to see everything I need to get done in one place.  It also holds me accountable as well.  If I don't get something done one day I add it to the next day until it gets done.  I have had to write "Fill up K-Cup drawer" every day since Monday.  I WILL get it done today.

Thinking- About this weekend.  It's Chris' 30th birthday on Saturday and he wants to do some special things to celebrate.

Feeling- A little sad.  Just got some bad news...  like minutes ago...  not fun...

Celebrating- My Broncos winning streak.  Let's see if we can keep it up this weekend against the Patriots.

Grateful For-  Everything that God has blessed me with and each and every struggle he has brought into my life because without those struggles I would not be the woman I am today.

I'm also grateful for the simple things like amazing sunsets.

I hope everyone is having a good week.  Comment down below and let me know what you're currently doing.

Makeup Monday- 10 Products I Regret Buying

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem right?  Well, I am a beauty addict.  But, the only thing I need help with is not buying products I don't like.  I have definitely bought some products over the years that I regret for various reasons.  Most of the time I hold on to them and force myself to use the product because hey, I spent the money right?  You will find that there are a few instances where I was fed up with the products and just threw them away.

MAC Paint pot in Chilled on Ice

It's kind of hard to tell from the picture but this product is EXTREMELY glittery.

NARS Mulitple in Cocacabana

I'm just not a fan of stick highlighters in general.  This one is also quite large and covers too much area in my opinion.

Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Bourbon

This eye liner has a lot of chunky silver glitter in it.  It's hard to use and blend into the lash line.

Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Perversion

This product is just to hard for me to use.  The brush is really long and not very stable.  I've since found out that I prefer the marker type of liquid liners.

Benefit The Porefessional Face Primer

This product is too greasy and I have found other primers that I favor instead.

Benefit That Gal Brightening Face Primer

I wouldn't call this product brightening.  I would call this product "Instant Super Shiny Face."

Benefit Posietint, Benetint

I just can't get the hang of tints or stains on my cheeks.  It always looks too streaky or too harsh.

MAC Kohl Power Eye Pencil in Feline

I really wanted to like this product because it is super black and pigmented.  But it is just too smudgy.  I feel like it never set up.  With my other eyeliners I can lightly rub my eyes and not have to worry about completely ruining my eye look.  Not the case with this product.  One swipe and there's no going back.

NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in Brunette

This product was too dark for my brows and I really didn't like the formula.  It felt really chalky.  I quickly replaced this product with an Anastasia Brow Powder which I was going to purchase in the first place but tried to take the cheap way out first.  Oh, well.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara in Black.

I bought this because the wand reminded me of another mascara that I had previously used.  I was hoping that this would be a similar product because it was $5 cheaper.  It sucked.  All my lashes ended up clumped together and the formula was way too wet.

Well that's my list of the 10 products I regret buying the most.  Comment down below and let me know about which product you regret buying over the years.

I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Fun Friday- Unboxing My Erin Condren Life Planner

This made me laugh out loud...  a lot...  more than I should probably admit.  Overall, I'm in a great mood.  My Erin Condren Life Planner finally came in the mail today and I was actually patient enough to take pictures of it as I opened it instead of just tearing through everything.

It came in such a pretty box with a beautiful quote on the flap.

The post-its are covering up my address.

The first thing I pulled out of the box was a catalog that was right on top.

It has a coupon for $15 off $50 on the first page.  Saving money on awesome products?  Yes, please!

The catalog is really nicely made and has the prices for the products inside as well.

The next thing I pulled out was an envelope with some gift tags and book labels inside.

There was also another sticker floating around by itself.  I later stuck this on the outside of my pen case.

As this was my first Erin Condren order I got another card with a coupon for $10 off as well.

Once all that stuff was out of the way the rest was wrapped in tissue.

I was also really happy that everything had a layer of bubble wrap around it as well.  Not that anything was fragile but I was worried about everything being jostled around during shipping.

I bought a couple of extra things to go with my planner.  One of those was a pen holder.  It has an adehesive backing and can be stuck on the back cover of your life planner.

I also bought a set of silver bands.  I will wrap one around my planner entirely so it stays shut and doesn't flop around all over the place.

I was given a free gift because I spent a certain amount.

I think this is a really cute shirt and I love that it's pink.

And here it is...  My pretty pink life planner.  It comes with a detachable ruler that you can use to easily flip to the week it is.

On the inside cover there is an area that you can write in your personal information.  I'll write my name and email address with a message stating that there will be a $20 reward if it is returned to me.  This is an really nice planner and I'm pretty sure that I would be heartbroken if I lost it.

There are cool quotes throughout the planner.  This one is featured in the very beginning.

There is a calendar for 2014/2015 early in the planner as well.

Here's another example of a quote in the planner.

This is what the monthly view looks like.

Each month has a quote at the top.

This is what the weekly view looks like.  The days are broken up into sections for morning, day, and night.

Each month is color coordinated as well.  You can see that when the month switches during the middle of a week the color changes too.

There is also a section on the left side of the page for goals and notes.  Below each day there are a couple of lines where you could plan your meals or keep track of your fitness as well.

In the back of the planner there are 25 pages that are lined for additional notes, lists, etc.

And some pages that are not lined for doodling and what not.

At the end of the planner you will find a calendar for 2016/2017.

Another quote, and then we get to the stickers.  I LOVE stickers.  The planner comes with two pages of preprinted stickers.

One full page of birthday stickers in various colors

And another set of stickers with different appointments you might have throughout the year.

Then there are two pages of blank stickers that you can write on yourself.  All the stickers are repositionable which is really cool.  That way if you make a mistake placing the sticker you don't have to worry about ripping the page its on.

Behind the stickers is the double sided keep it together folder.  Inside is the Perpetual Calendar and Contact Book.  The nice thing about this is that you can just move it around from planner to planner so that you don't have to keep writing all these dates and numbers in.

It also has a section in the back that tells you when all the holidays are for the year.

I ordered some custom event stickers that I can place on the days that I want to post on my blog.

I also ordered two extra sheets of blank stickers as well.

I also came across some goodies in my clear bag.

Some personalized stickers that match my planner,

And some more gift tags.

There were also some let's get together cards.  I can easily fill these out with my name and cell phone number.  It's so much more personal than typing your number into someone's phone.

The clear bag is nice and I'll probably keep some post its in it.

I was walking through Target after purchasing my planner and saw these pens.  I like the idea of being able to color code things as I write them.

I also grabbed a couple rolls of Washi tape and I can wait to use it in my planner.  Washi tape is also repositionable which is nice.

So that's my new planner.  I'm probably going to crack it open and start writing everything in it as soon as I'm done with this post.  Comment down below and let me know if you would like to see a post on how I actually use my planner.

Have a great weekend everyone!
